Catford

About this station

This station is served by
Thameslink
and is on the
Catford Loop
line, served by trains between the Thameslink core, and Orpington and Sevenoaks.

Platforms

Side platforms. Platform 1 is northbound towards central London, and platform 2 is southbound towards Kent.

Current accessibility

As the scheme has completed, there is lift access up to both platforms from street level

Catford vs Catford Bridge

Catford Bridge is a separate station almost next-door, on the
Hayes Line
and served by Southeastern. It has SFA with separate entrances for each platform from the street.
Confusingly, the railway is on a bridge at Catford, and not on a bridge at Catford Bridge. “Bridge” probably refers to the nearby river, as well as being marketing speak for “oi this is an idyllic rural location and we’re better than Catford, come spend all your money commuting with us”.
Jago Hazzard has done a brilliant video explaining the bizarre “Catford cat-fight”, and how the train lines duplicate and pass over each-other without a connection
